Uthman ibn Affan (RA) was the third Caliph of the Muslims and one of the earliest to accept Islam. Known as Dhun-Nurayn — "the possessor of the two lights" — he was renowned for his modesty and his generosity, giving his wealth freely for the sake of Allah. Under his leadership the Qur'an was compiled into a single standard copy, preserved for the Ummah to this day.
